Fall 2024 Classes — New Series Starts Sept. 9th


All classes are held at the St. Ignace Public Library, 110 West Spruce St., St. Ignace, MI.

MONDAYS — Chair Yoga — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (NEW TIME) — This 8-week series includes classes on September 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th; October 7th, 21st and 28th; and November 4th.

THURSDAYS — All Levels Yoga — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (NEW TIME) — This 8-week series includes classes on September 12th, 19th and 26th; October 3rd, 10th and 24th; and November 7th and 14th.

 

DETAILS:

All classes will take place at the St. Ignace Public Library at 110 West Spruce St. in St. Ignace. Each class is offered as an 8-week series. The series are available w/ 10% discount if paid-in-full prior to or at first class of series. Drop-ins are also welcome!

SLIDING SCALE PRICING OPTIONS:

With the intention to make yoga classes more affordable, accessible and abundant, I offer classes on a sliding pricing scale, so that you can choose the pricing option that’s best for you. No explanation needed. Here are the options:

Community Supported: Drop-ins - $10 / 8-wk series- $72 ($9/class)

Standard: Drop-ins - $15 / 8-wk series - $108 ($13.5/class)

Paying It Forward: Drop-ins - $20 / 8-wk series - $144 ($18/class)

Payments are accepted via cash, check or Venmo @Samantha-Radecki. Thank you so much for your support! If pricing is ever a barrier to attending classes, please reach out and accommodations will be made. No questions asked.

MISSED CLASS POLICY:

If you purchase the full 8-week series of class, though have to miss class for personal reasons, you can make up your class at any other class in the Jan/Feb 2024 yoga series or you may bring along a friend or family member to use a missed class (please text me prior to let me know!) Classes missed for emergencies (family, medical, etc.) can also be made up - please text me and we will work it out. If I have to cancel class, it will be rescheduled and communicated with students via email.

Class Descriptions

CHAIR YOGA:

In chair yoga classes, we use the chair rather than the floor for sitting. We also use the chair as a prop for balancing postures and more. Chair yoga is still a full yoga experience, consisting of meditation, pranayama (breath/energy work), physical stretching, warm-ups, asanas (postures) and savasana (deep relaxation and surrender). These classes are adhere to the Kripalu approach to yoga, details below.

ALL LEVELS YOGA:

All Levels Yoga classes introduce the Kripalu Yoga practice consisting of meditation, pranayama (breath/energy work), stretching, warm-ups, asana (postures) and savasana (deep relaxation and surrender). Kripalu Yoga is a compassion-based practice that encourages physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual alignment and well-being, witness consciousness, skillful action, and skillful engagement with life itself. In classes you will learn how to create a deeper connection between your breath and your body, increase your self-awareness, build resiliency, strength, flexibility and discernment, and much more.

These classes are suitable for new, intermediate and advanced students. I offer many modifications and variations so you can create the practice you need - i.e. more gentle or more challenging, etc. These classes can also be adapted for pregnant and postpartum mothers.

Liability and Student Waiver Agreement

By choosing to participate in Samantha Radecki LLC’s fitness and yoga classes understand that yoga, calisthenics, cardio activity and dance include physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress reeducation and relief of muscular tension. Participation in classes includes, but is not limited to, participation in meditation techniques, yogic breathing techniques, dancing, calisthenics and performing various yoga postures. Yoga postures, or asanas, and calisthenics are designed to exercise every part of the body―stretching and toning the muscles and joints, the spine and the entire skeletal system. They also work on the internal organs, glands and nerves. Yoga incorporates sustained stretching to strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. These movement classes are an individual experience.

I also understand that COVID-19 is present in our community and that I will follow the safety set by Samantha Radecki, LLC, when we practice together in person.

As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. My signature acknowledges I understand that in these yoga and movement classes I will progress at my own pace. If I experience any pain or discomfort, I will listen to my body, adjust the posture and ask for support from the yoga teacher (the “Teacher”). I will continue to breathe smoothly. If at any point I feel overexertion or fatigue, I will respect my body’s limitations and I will rest before continuing yoga practice.

Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment or mental health therapy. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. I affirm that I alone am responsible to decide whether to practice yoga.

By participating in classes, I acknowledge that participation in these classes exposes me to the possible risks of personal injury. I am fully aware of these risks. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during any yoga class.

I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors and assigns as follows: I (a) irrevocably WAIVE, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Samantha Radecki, LLC, FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which hereafter may occur to me, including my traveling to and from yoga classes, with Samantha Radecki, LLC, who is hosting these classes and where sessions are being held, and each of their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents; and (b) INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS AND AGREE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph as to any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in the yoga classes, whether caused by the negligence of releases or otherwise.

My participation further acknowledges that I shall not now or at any time in the future bring any legal action against Samantha Radecki, LLC; and that this waiver is binding on me, my heirs, my spouse, my children, my legal representatives, my successors and my assigns. My signature verifies that I am physically fit to participate in yoga classes and a licensed medical doctor has verified my physical condition for participation in this type of class. If I am pregnant or become pregnant or am postnatal, my signature verifies that I am participating in yoga classes with my doctor’s full approval. I realize that I am participating in yoga classes at my own risk.

The Student Waiver Agreement shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. I acknowledge that this Student Waiver Agreement form will be used by the persons or entities being released in the yoga classes and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities in said classes.

I hereby certify that I have read this document; and I understand its content I am aware that this is a release of liability as well as a contract and I participate in classes of my own free will.
